The Man Overboard Quintet

The Man Overboard Quintet add their own stamp to a repertoire of tunes made famous by the likes of Billie Holiday, Django Reinhardt, the Mills Brothers, Duke Ellington and Fats Waller. The chemistry between these superb musicians and their audience makes every performance a magical occasion.

Of their recent album, Down in the Deep Deep Blue, Bruce Lindsay wrote in All about Jazz ‘The playing is excellent, but the Man Overboard Quintet’s most distinctive feature is Louisa Jones’ voice. If Billie Holiday had come from the north-east of England and sung an octave or two higher, this is what she might have sounded like…she can tug at the strings of the hardest heart’.
