Winner of the 2019 National Eisteddfod Instrumental Blue Riband and the prestigious Gold Medal from the Royal Northern College of Music, Wrexham-born pianist Luke Jones comes to Cowbridge as the CMF Young Artist 2020 with a programme to include a specially commissioned work by Vale of Glamorgan composer Sarah Lianne Lewis.

A recent graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, Luke has already featured as a soloist with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Manchester Camerata, and performed on important stages across Europe including the Salle Cortot (Paris),  Bridgewater Hall (Manchester), St. George’s (Bristol), Philharmonie de Luxembourg, Wienersaal (Salzburg) and Palau de la Musica (Barcelona). 

Composer Sarah Lianne Lewis, based in Penarth, studied at Cardiff University between 2006 and 2011, gaining a BA (Hons) in Music & History, and an MMus in Composition. Her music, described by Steph Power in the Wales Arts Review as “full of imaginative sonorities” has since been performed in Europe, Canada and Australia, and broadcast on several UK and European radio stations.

Tickets go on sale to the CMF Friends Association on Saturday 8th August. General sales will then open on Saturday 22nd August.
